Turns out they were captivating to us both. I found them when I was getting books for my 8 year old son. Love these books! There are not many books I purchase anymore because I order them from the library or get books free on kindle. READ THEM ALL!!! They will not disappoint.Īudiobook How to Steal a Dragon’s Sword by Cressida Cowell So much BETTER than the movie of the same name. Start by reading out loud to them and then they can try to read a chapter to you. Very good source of vocabulary too because the author uses big words and it will help develop your child’s vocabulary. Highly recommend, especially good to get kids moving out of picture books and into listening to chapter books. I actually CRY when reading some of these books. I love the hero Hiccup and his noble heart. The stories are touching, funny, exciting and filled with life lessons. His older sister read them and now it’s a family affair. We have the whole series and I am rereading them with my 8 year old son. It is better to read some of the earlier ones to get what’s happening in this one but it’s an exciting coming of age story nonetheless. If you have a 7-10 year old BOY OR GIRL, they will love these books. How to Steal a Dragon’s Sword series How to Train Your Dragon Just like Hiccup and his friends don’t want to imagine a world without dragons, I don’t want to imagine a world without a new How to Train Your Dragon to read to my kids. But can a scrawny Viking save the entire Archipelago from certain doom? To find out, Hiccup will have to outwit a witch, fight his arch-enemy, and beat back an army of bloodthirsty dragons with just one sword.I’m glad this isn’t the last book.
In his adventures, Hiccup has collected quite a few "things" himself. Razor-wings, Tonguetwisters, and Vampire Ghouldeaths are attacking Vikings and seem to be seeking one soul in particular: Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third! Only a King can save them.and only a champion with all of the King's Lost Things can be King. In Book 9, a dragon rebellion is coming-filled with the meanest, nastiest dragons in the Archipelago. The How to Train Your Dragon series chronicles the adventures and misadventures of Viking underdog Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III and his dragon, Toothless.
